Local race engine builder Dennis Wells placed an order for a Goblin a while back and has stopped by the shop several times since then to take prototype 2 out to cruise around. Today he came by for another drive, but he also decided to take it back to his shop and dyno the car on his chassis dyno.

Prototype 2 was built from a 2009 Cobalt LT. It has the stock 2.2 Ecotec LAP. From the factory, this engine is rated at 155 horsepower at 6100 RPM. The only modifications we've made are the custom intake and exhaust. The exhaust doesn't have cats but has the primary O2 sensor. We haven't touched the ECU, so it is still running the stock tune.

Dennis did several pulls to get us some good base line numbers to compare to when we start tuning and upgrading. Peak corrected wheel horsepower averaged around 150, with the best pull getting 150.8 horsepower at 6251 RPM.

Here's a video so you can hear how it sounded while dynoing the car. The video is a little shaky, but since we were at our shop working on the kits, Dennis was on his own to do the test while also recording.
