as the title says I purchased an older A/T Goblin, the evap system had been removed, it's running rich and smells strong of gas, but I would like to register it in utah which means I need emissions. However, with check engine lights I should be able to pass, and the engine lights are related to the evap system, so during the build are the evap system sensors removed or cut off or are they just hidden in the loom somewhere?

Thanks,
Jim

All of the gas tank end part of the emissions are typically removed along with all piping/hoses. The evap solenoid on the intake is usually left. I think a few have been built or modified with evap system, but not many.

Probably easiest to go with registering it in Montana then you think?

Also would people be interested in joining a discord server, I think a lot of our conversations could be expedited on a chat server?
We had one, called DF Kit Car Community. I tried to go there, but it looks like it is shut down now. I only stopped by once in a while, it was mostly for people to know we existed... not enough people on it for fast response times. Things sat unanswered for months.

Either Montana, or restore your evap system. Assuming you need that for your state. What state are you trying to register it in? The stock Cobalt evap system could be installed... a few builders in California have registered DF Goblins... but I believe they started with a California spec Cobalt donor car.

I kept the EVAP system on my build but like mentioned above, most people cut out the wiring to the EVAP from the fuel tank harness. You could add it all back with splicing in the wires and canister from the junk yard or go Montana or Some had found success tuning the engine to run better.

Check out my build log for how i added the canister.
