what top speeds and 1/4 mile times have been done in a goblin?
And don't forget 3300 lbs curb weight for a CobaltJirwin is correct, these are not aero friendly cars, so top speed is not its thing, but it’ll definitely get to 100 faster than you can blink.
if I remember correctly, GM says the cobalt has an estimated top speed of 150ish? max rpm x final drive gear ratio x tire size = top speed *if max rpm can actually be achieved in top gear, is a whole other equation.
Your right I guess a better question would be what's it's 40 or 60 to 100,This is definitely not a top speed / back half car because of the aero. Last time I ran the quarter I was making a little over 220hp and I ran it 12.25@107. I'm now making 300hp, but I haven't ran it in a full prepped quarter. No prep 1/8th I did run a low 7 at ~100mph though.
Not sure what to tell you. There’s a lot of factors in that question. Here’s a couple of videos of me on the track. I’m just above stock on hp and although I was running pretty hard, I was still feeling out the car on the track, so I wasn’t at full hammer down.Your right I guess a better question would be what's it's 40 or 60 to 100,
Like coming out a corner gunning on a straight how long before I hit top speed
As for me it's not MPH but SPM Smiles Per Minute !!!what top speeds and 1/4 mile times have been done in a goblin?
This is my best run on the street so far. Haven't been to a track yet but my car has a 4.45 final drive with 275-40r17 tires and currently I'm on the limiter at 7300 in 4th at the end of the quarter so 130mph is the limit for me in the quarter. View attachment 51259
Between the head and turbo, it just wants to make power higher and higher. Thanks, it's an lnf with a zfr7163 and all the zzp goodies. Zzp pistons & rods, zzp ported head and 82lb valve springs, nuetral balance shafts, ati damper and on e85. Makes about 480 on 24 psi
@Ross Z54 pics below are the smaller Z57... definitely NOT aluminum.I just realized that ZZP offers both a Z57 and a ZFR 7163. Now I am curious which one I have, and what the difference is. The ZFR 7163 is $2270 mentions ceramic ball bearings, the Z57 ($1350) doesn't mention it, so maybe it is cheaper journal bearings? The ZFR also mentions that center housing is actually made from aluminum... is the Z57 center made from cast iron?
