Car will be used to enjoy riding the twisty highways of the Texas Hill Country.

Purchased the non running donor some time ago and started the project late 2025. Engine started but surged really bad.

Replaced MAF sensor, coils, and plugs and started and seemed to run good. Couldn't drive because rear wheels were froze. All cylinders were a consistent 140psi compression.

Disassembled engine and measured cylinders and bearings. All were withing tolerance except cams so I bought new GM replacements. Disassembled and cleaned the heads and components. All valves passed the vacuum test after reassembly.

Turbo casing was cracked so sent it to the scrap pile and bought a new GM replacement.

Engine rebuild less turbo was finished 1/8/26.

Stages 1 and 2 progress:

After major delays was able to complete most of the second stage build around mid June, 2026. No major problems putting the kit together. Adam and crew put together easy to follow wiring harness rebuilding and mechanical assembly videos which made the process quite painless.

Made a mold to make a fiberglass roof, finished the roof, and finished painting all the fiberglass body parts with a pearl base coat and lots of clear.

Got a major obstacle with the engine that may be asking for input from others. Tried starting for the first time at the end of May. Difficulty starting engine and when it started it surged. Codes were P2146, 2155, and 452.

Replaced all the injectors, coils, cam and crank sensors, checked all the wires for continuity, checked all the grounds, checked the injector high and low supply voltage sides coming off the PCM. All those passed except the low voltage supply side coming off the PCM. This led me to believe a failure at the PCM I/O Low Side Drive Switches in the PCM. So I bought a new PCM from Flagship. After installing the new PCM I still have the exact same issue.

Returned the PCM back to Flagship for evaluation and currently waiting for their findings.

I have a Seibon Carbon Fiber GT Rear Spoiler: GTWING-1 but there is a couple different options that guys go with. All depending how big and crazy you want to go.
