V1 Travis B's Track goblin #479 - 08 SS

Ross
1 and 3 are the firewall behind the seats.
2 goes where your feet are when driving, passenger side too.
4 must be a new front firewall... looks different than mine.
5 and 6 are the floor that go under the seats.

A bit of warning that throws some people off is that it is common to have to grind some clearance for the stearing linkage to pass through the bulkhead (9 o'clock to 12 o'clock about 1/8-1/4"). Some get a little tiffed that they have to do this post powdercoat. If you want, you can mock up the steering rack, the steering motor assembly with the collapsable shaft between them with the bulkhead taped in place to make the clearance BEFORE coating...if needed.

Ya trying to get pieces together for powder coating. I'm doing a lime green RAL 6038 main chassis, rad support, and tunnel cover, and RAL 7012(somewhat norda grey) for the suspensions. I think I am going to do the floors, rear firewall, and trans mounts black and rattle can the bulkhead black.

Did you guys powder to floor and rear firewall primary color or alternate?

I powdercoated the frame and just about everything else that need paint was done in Steel-it black rattle can. I like the way the steel-it looks but the price has gone up quite a bit since I did it. $40ish a can is a bit steep.

Ya i was the first one, then West Richland and then he said north of Seattle. Good times ahead, haven't had a project car in a while.

Been a while since I posted. Got the frame back from powder, Kawi green, I've been working extra shifts so finally had a few hours to get some work done. Was able to put the floor on, as well as ran the coolant lines through the tubes. The motor is partially ready to go. New head, 82lb valve springs, cleaned everything up, new timing set. Going to upgrade the turbo but that's all in due time. Trying to decide on A2A intercooler placement, Justin Reed placement or up between the seats, got plenty of time to decide. Just thought I'd post some progress.

I've got an A2A on the back with 2x 9" fans and was getting 110° IATs in mid-90 degree ambient temps on track in the high-teens PSI boost levels.

Was 108° today but was able to sweat through some progress. New rear main seal and axle seals, mounted the new flywheel and KY Stage 3.5 clutch, mounted the turbo and ran the 4an PTFE oil and coolant lines. Neighbor brought me a beer and was so thankful.

Holy guacamole that turbo is a biggin'. That thick girl is gonna make some hustle when you get her running.

Tracking your Goblin? Autocross? Road course? Drag? Keep in mind the LNF has cast pistons and these should be replaced (if not done already) with forged pistons if that mongo turbo will be pushing the HP north of 350. The GM forged rods are reported as good to 400 plus, maybe 450ish on a good day, before longevity starts to become a concern. Just food for thought. ;)
