What’s this?

The harness cam back with open wires labeled but none of the plugs are labeled.
I dont recall ever getting a wiring diagram from anyone. I only just got the wiring harness last week so I’m not sure when that would have useful until now.
My fuel pump has 7 wires so I’m not sure it’s as easy as 2 power and 2 signal.
Insulting my intelligence doesn’t make this project any more pleasant.

Thanks for sending. Seems like a mix of confusion and “buy an ‘06 fuel pump”. Would you see a problem with hard wiring the ‘06 plug from DF to an ‘05 pump?

I don’t know enough about it for a great answer, but the easiest plan of attack that others have done is to use a 06 pump assembly. You could wire to the 05 pump, just need the schematics to do it.

I’m trying to figure out where this wire from the fuel pump goes. This comes right out of the top of the fuel pump.
Ok! there are 7 wires on that white plug. That end connected to the bulkhead connector under the backseat. Only 4 of the wires are fuel pump wires, I think the others are part of the evap system. The fuel pump some times uses a replacement pigtail that fits a 2001 Silverado fuel pump, a standard replacement part found at auto parts stores. I would need to see a wiring diagram for your year donor but my 06 used the orange, the black, the larger gray(I will have to check to be sure but pretty sure it is the bigger gray one) and the purple wire(s). Connect orange to orange etc.... The black wire goes straight to ground and does not need to go back into your harness(but can if you like!), just straight to a nice, clean ground. If you forget to ground the black wire the fuel pump does not work!, with Goblin builds it seems like its always a forgotten ground. I forgot to ground my fuel pump, searched for my no start problem for days, D'OH! It was not grounded. "It's always a ground."................. My purple wire faded to blue, really confusing until I unwrapped the bundle! FYI, orange wires fade to yellow, red to pink, pink to white/off white, green to "mint" or white. I'm glad I'm not color blind! But sometimes old parts cause strange troubles all on their own.

Not sure if this will help you out. I had an 05 donor and ended up using the OEM plug after separating it from the other attached plug.

Thank everyone for the help on this. I think DF cut off the ‘05 plug from my harness and put on an ‘06 plug on the harness they gave back to me. I’m not sure the best way to go from here.

I’m finding a lot of conflicting info about what wires I need to keep and which colors are what. I see purple is fuel level sensor but I don’t have purple. Does anyone has a diagram for specifically an ’05 fuel pump?

The only thing I determined for sure from the wiring schematic is that the fuel pump feed(+) going into the pump leaves the fuse panel as a Gray wire and at a connector becomes the Pink w/ Blk stripe. Black wire is always ground, as shown in the schematic. So that is your fuel pump circuit! .............. Leaving only the Yellow w/Wht stripe and the Orange wires in question. One(or both) of those I believe is the fuel level sender wire, the other ??....... As seen in this picture, the 4 fuel pump wires are going into that gray box from left to right, purple, gray, Lt Brn and Blk.......... IF they come out of the top end(left to right) in the same order(which seems to be true for the Pink/Blk stripe + wire and the ground Black wire.).......... Then Yellow w/ wht stripe splices to Purple, Orange(or maybe pink?)splices to Tan. If you can find the fuel sender circuit schematic it would clarify these two. As this is the fuel sender circuit those two connections could be left disconnected for later completion as "no fuel sender" should not stop the car from running.

Also not sure what this brass nipple is on the firewall side of the SC intake.

Is that on the throttle body? If so, you cap that off. I can't recall where it actually runs to and from. The brake booster that Gtstory mentions is from a port on the SC. I can get better photos when I got home later.

Yeah. It’s on the firewall side of the throttle body. Kind of hidden.

I'll get you some photos of my TB and where the brake booster connects to on the blower. It'll be tonight as the Goblin is at home and I'm stuck at work.
Thanks so much. I think I got the brake booster stuff figured out. I'll have more but the next two I want to confirm are the brass nipple (shown again here for clarity) and this thing on top of the engine. I think it's some sort of evap canister purge sensor? Maybe I can just remove this?

Isn't that your SC bypass solenoid? Hose in/out, filter (broken) with the metal bracket, and a place for an electrical connection. if it is the bypass solenoid you need it.

Just asking?

In my opinion these questions are more easily answered when they're within a single build thread. I think it helps with context, and it helps me keep track of which questions have and haven't been answered.

The barb at the throttle body was where the EVAP system connected to the intake manifold. It should be capped.

The supercharger bypass solenoid and EVAP solenoid shared a bracket. What you're holding looks like the supercharger bypass solenoid to me. I don't think the EVAP solenoid had three ports. It looks like the EVAP solenoid has been removed from your bracket.

To address a point you made earlier (perhaps in another thread), connector views and wire colors are both useful tools in figuring out what's what.

I don’t know what it is for sure. Just had another member say his car still has it but it isnt plugged into anything. Guess I’ll just leave it for now.

Gotcha. I’m not super savvy with the forum structure. I should put these questions in my build log? Or maybe in the electrical build section?
