The one draped over the brake fluid reservoir is for the stock boost gauge.

I think the purple wire was for the fog lights and can be used as a power source. It’ll cut out every time you turn on the headlight high beams. It’s supposed to run to the bottom panel ACC spot but I ran a hot wire to it.

I think the pink is 5v wire. Just a miscellaneous key on power source.

Normally on a Cobalt, red is a 12v wire, red with a white stripe is a fused 12v wire, and pink is fused and key on 12v wire.

Thanks guys! all good info. Boost gauge! yes it is a turbo car and I have to mount that still. duh!!!

I spent more time looking for the shifter ball socket clips than I did completing anything so far this week. At this point I may try to find them online and order spares. I am kicking myself a lot for every time I get interrupted on this project it is like 10 steps backward to figure out what I was doing and where my dang parts went that never actually got moved. my Goblin parking space is like a time capsule or more likely a post apocalyptical scene where the people were interrupted mid meal and left everything just sitting on the tables. mice and spiders must be absconding with the itty bitty parts. lol.

come to think of it. . . I hope the darn key is somewhere that is quickly determined!

the wire drooped over brake res is still a mystery. i got the boost gauge mounted up and it had a 4 wire connector. this mystery wire is a 2 wire- looks green w/ black strip and yellow?(or tan) with a black stripe

Whats this? clutch line? I did not take the donor car apart for the most part because it was in OldB1's shop and this does not look very much like the clutch line out of my supercharged donor- but then the SC donor was cut off at the firewall. I do have a clutch line to get hooked up before I mount the fuse box.

grr. then wind changed direction and the wood stove backed up into the shop and I got smoked out of the shop while I was asking questions. . .but while holding my breath and profusely steaming tears I think I got the hardline clutch bit into the slave cylinder end. . .now to find the RIGHT clip. Would these (excuse the mangled one) be a clutch clip? they were set aside with some reverence on the passenger side floor pan and I do not have a clue what else might need a clip right now. they do not look like the clips in above mystery hose at all- those are much more squared off. AND not 10 inches down the floor pan were the pair of shifter clips also reverently placed but under a zip lock. whew! this is the best progress I made all year! lol

Yes, clutch line. The little doohickey on the end is some sort of accumulator I think

since smoked outta the shop for a bit i have been doing lots of googling and reading. . . .Could this plug be for an ambient light sensor? green/black stripe and yellow/black stripe. i sure do not think I have one of those lying around. amazon!!!!

I noticed while underneath the car that my intercooler pump had no wires going to it and I do not have any spare plugs in that vicinity. . . whence doth the power come from for the intercooler pump?

while trying to get my fuse box mounted back near the engine- must be some trick to getting the fuse side to settle into the lower plug bit but I haven't figured it out yet- I noticed an unlabeled ~20 gauge light blue wire in the goblin prepped wire harness taped up tight right to the rest of the plugs that go into the fuse box and then 1 foot left over. anyone got a clue what this and where it goes? license plate light and rear signals are accounted for.

i have lots and lots of other questions in wrapping up the last bits of this assembly. so of course much more to follow

Intercooler power should be a 12v key on red wire and then a ground. Intercooler should have the pigtail on it with red and blue wires iirc

Also, iirc that other light blue wire gets spliced into one of the fusebox connector wires (black?) and powers the radiator fan? If its the one Im thinking of, its definitely mentioned in the assembly videos.

Man I ran out this morning ready to splice that wire right in. . .. 'cept there are 2 light blue wires one is labeled - radiator from goblin HQ and came with a blade connector. the other is much thinner and runs a bit over a foot longer. So I still have a mystery wire.

Dang shop tv/monitor is still on the wall over at OldB1's shop and the CNC machines are air gapped. grr. So it is back and forth to the office in the house right now. me thinks I need to invest in a portable solution or go and convince him to give up the tv! my wife is about to have my head if I track any more into the house or leave a hand print on a door. lol.

Try as I might I still can not get the upper half of the fuse box thingie to seat on the corner nearest the drivers tail light. I am afraid of breaking something- the cover gave up the ghost in a dozen pieces just unlatching it from the part pictured above. grr. surely a c-clamp will be over kill?

If its not seating, something is not seated.
That sounds profoundly stupid, but it makes sense in my head. Make sure all of the bulkhead connections are fed into the lower half of the box correctly. Its been in the same position in the cobalt for 15+ years, so it should fall back into position relatively easy. I had to argue with mine just a little bit, too.

Clutch line, discard the accumulator and clean out the tube

ah hah I FINALLY found the video you speak of: DF Goblin Assembly - Installing the Fuse Box Housing

that covers the "ovaled" wire

the light blue wire with the red arrow0 i believe is for the center brake light and apparently if not grounded with a resistor the cruse control won't work. . . i haven't yet figured which resister and looking for a light on amazon to hook it up to. . .
