Positive Battery to starter to fuse box
and starter to alternator
Purple is the trigger wire.
Alternator ground just needs to be grounded to the block or frame.
Starter itself is grounded to the block as mounted.
Bare wire on starter is the "field" wire, basically the positive from the solenoid to the winding in the starter.

@Ross Instrument cluster works, fuse is good, purple connectors are good.
@Wes clutch switches are installed, just not bled. I've been holding the clutch down and verifying one switch disengages and the other is pressed.

I think I have the starter wired up completely wrong so swallow your drink before laughing haha. In the photo attached,
I don't see any attached photo
I have the purple wire going to the small post, and that black wire above is coming from the alternator (ground probably). So this is obviously wrong. Is that purple wire just a trigger?
The purple wire is the trigger from the PCM, that energizes the solenoid, which turns on the starter motor.
Do I need to run a power wire from the starter top post to the post on the fuse box?
Yes. The wire from the battery gets connected to the fuse box wire.
Is that slightly corroded thick wire on the bottom starter post the ground?
No. The starter ground is the bolts that hold it to the engine.
The big bolts on the solenoid are 12V+ power in and out of the solenoid. So both bolts are positive. The solenoid is a big relay, that allows 100+ amps of 12V power flow from the battery to the starter motor. One of the bolts on the solenoid goes to the battery, the other goes into the starter motor. The solenoid also has a little post for the purple wire to energize it.

Where does that alternator ground go?
Um, all grounds go to the frame. The nearest post is probably the one below the fusebox, on the transmission frame mount.
Is that alternator wire a ground??? I don't remember that wire.

Alternator is case grounded like the starter. The big wire coming off the back of the alternator is the positive charging wire at goes to the big post on the starter or can go to the positive post on the fuse box.

Forgot the photo. Starter works now and engine cranks over! Hasn't started yet so now to look into that. Can't believe I just forgot to send power to it.

I replaced my starter then couldn't figure out why the car wouldn't start. Turns out the positive cable dropped behind some other stuff and I didn't hook it up. Spent way to much time troubleshooting.

It happens to all of us.

Interestingly, Car cranked a few times, but now won't anymore. Died while key was turned to start. Checked fuses and they're all good, battery is charged, relay clicks. wonder if the starter died...

My first guess is loose connections on the back side of the fuse box since that is something I fought for a long time. Check and see if you get 12v at the purple wire while trying to crank.

Relays will click even if the battery is getting weak/losing charge - but won't have enough current to turn over the starter. Since thing we're trying to work before, slapping a charger on the battery would be the first thing I would look at before tearing into other things. :D

I have a battery maintainer on it so we have full charge. Purple trigger light is getting 12v. connections are kinda corroded so might just not be getting through the gunk.

Can anyone provide photos of their brake reservoir setup? I've got the older master cylinder variation. I don't really understand where it's supposed to be relocated to, and I feel like I'm missing a part to go from the master cylinder to the adapter.

Ya, I believe you use the existing holes in the pedal box. In the whole project, you don’t drill any holes
