Hi all,

while I am working to install my 7inch display, I quickly designed a 3D printed modular adapter to mount items on the steering column behind the steering wheel.

Just printed an adapter for my cell phone and it worked out well so far. Pretty stable, but more testing will be done this weekend.

I uploaded the filed to cults3d. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/df-goblin-steering-adapter-modular

Will add some pictures with the phone installed once I get a second phone to take them. LOL

New top pars will follow as progress on the digital dash board happens.

Mike

What 7 inch display you planning to run? Like a tablet with bluetooth obd2 adapter for Torque Pro? Or are you doing something else?

I bought this one https://amzn.to/3P8dMAj and a raspberry pi. I plan on connecting the raspberry via Can bus to the car. The cell phone is currently connected via bluetooth to an OBD2 adapter, but that‘s only interim.
If it works out I also plan to make an LED Shift indicator with the gpios of the raspberry pi.

Alternatively I look into a solution with an Arduino. That seems to be in the long run the better option, since it‘s smaller and requires less energy.
