A Peek Into DF Kit Car

ncgoblin
I'm really wishing I would have drove down last weekend to pick mine up. This is taking for ever..... My local powder coater has quoted at $1200 and 3months tell I get it back.
The quote seems fair mine was $1500 in North Carolina probably would have been cheaper if I brought the parts to their doorstep and not photos. 3 months on the other hand...bummer

Thinking I am just going to do normal paint, am on a time crunch and have to have it done, registered and ready to go For November 2021 Gambler 500 Kansas Rally. But I do have a new powder coat system cost me a lil over 30g but I still need to build a oven, blast booth. and the bath wash. between running a small town auto shop, (by my self) and my practice as a Dr in child psychology, just don't have enough time to do everything needed.

I'm about to spray mine this weekend using a product called Steel-IT, might even be more durable that powder coating?

Good Morning Goblin Family & Friends! Hope everyone is well so far & has a good day!

Today here at DFKC, it's overcast outside but the rain is holding off this morning. Hopefully it'll hold off long enough for the 2 pickups today!

#284 will be going home today when Blake gets here to pick her up. We're glad they were able to get their truck issue fixed & make it today!

24043

#281 will be making her way across the border into Canada via YRC Freight sometime today, we know that Corey is anxious for her to hit the road & on her way to him!

Last but not least for now...

#300 is done on the jig & moving in a bit to the rotisserie...She came together fast yesterday with teamwork!

Till later...Peace out!

Well, the rain held off long enough for #284 to be loaded....

As soon as it was loaded, Lonny started taking the guys for a drive but sadly before drive #1 got very far off the property, the skies opened & down came the rain so we got back a wet Lonny & a wet passenger!

Off goes another "child" of ours...We can't wait to see what Blake will do with this one!

This is exactly what i was going to suggest this is what im painting all parts in as well. More durable then powder coat, can be welded through and touched up with no noticable discoloration, and rust prevention. You cant go wrong. Pretty much every trophy truck off road racer baha racer ect ect uses it for their parts and frames because it can handle the abuse. Should turn out a little cheaper too. Only problem is color selection is minimal grey and black

So, what's going on today at DFKC? It's a muggy, warm & cloudy day outside already & I'm protected from the mosquitos thanks to the Cutter repellant I brought! No rain forecasted today...WOOHOO!

I'm curious, if I may ask what brand\make of muffler is that. I did not see anything on mine that identified it?

Good morning Goblin Family & Friends, Happy Friday!

I'm sorry to disappoint but I don't have any real updates as to what is going on at DFKC today, I'm not feeling well & am working from home today. I know the guys are working hard today (as always) & that #278 is being picked up today, she's anxious to head home even though she'll stay pretty local to us in Forney, TX.

Stewart Transport is scheduled to pickup the outgoing Florida kits from us this coming Tuesday, always exciting to see kits head home to you guys!

I hope everyone has a safe & good weekend.
