V1 Clutch and brake bleed question

ToothMagician
Thanks @Desert Sasqwatch and @comegetjoe for the fast answers. Apparently my stupidity is on a galactic scale today. The silver looking dowels were actually the spacers for between the trans and D-side trans mount. The dowels were in the engine block side all along. Destroyed the spacers getting them out so ill grab some more tomorrow. Transmission didn't want to go on, but got it to mate up after some shaking and shifting.

Soooo.. Everything back together, TOB was bench bled, clutch pedal felt good...then It pissed clutch fluid out of the trans casing again.. im feeling pretty defeated, but i will not quit. I've got the sub frame off again and I'm gonna drop the engine with the trans this time and just take it to a trans shop. have them mate it back up and throw it in.

Does anyone have any theories about what's happening, my curiosity is eating me alive. Maybe the feed line isn't bottomed out in the TOB? TOB seal blown again? Idk anymore...

Gotta start over with Diag. Is it leaking from inside the trans or possibly at the goofy elbow up top?

It's leaking at the underside of the trans bell housing where it meets up with the engine. And not a little. Like a lot. (About 1 drop every 5 seconds) and is a 15 in. Puddle at this point. No where else is wet or leaking. Also replaced the little elbow and feed tube.

Just a thought (assuming the TOB piston is not pushing out of the assembly), since this will be disassembled again maybe you could test the TOB? After disassembly from the transmission, hook up the clutch line to the TOB and clamp the bearing to keep it in one piece, step on the clutch pedal and see what's leaking. Maybe?

The F35 does have a black plastic cover, that could let you look inside the clutch area... probably need an inspection camera.
Yeah dude. Vevor is the company I bought my camera from, its bend and you can flex the head on the end once its in there. Its been a help for sure.

I pulled my trans out just like you are now only to find a clean TOB. Mine was leaking heavily down the underside of that aluminum block atop that "goofy pipe" and then down behind the clutch and coming out of the bottom between the engine and trans.

I thought mine was leaking from inside the bell housing. After putting the motor & trans out and not finding the problem, it was having an extra o ring in the connection at the elbow. No signs of a leak at that point was visible even when using a pressure bleeder.

I like this idea, ima do this for sure

:confused:Ok. Was hoping for an easy fix
I'm right there with you man

Yeah, I know where you're talking about. Its hard to get a good look with the oil cooler in the way. Have a borescope as well, im gonna hook it all up with the everything out of the car and test it out when it's easier to access.

Did you measure the air gap?
I did and checked multiple times because I was freaked out about it. I also used a GMPP clutch and stock flywheel to prevent any issues pertaining to that.

Dude you had it spot on, I thought I was gonna lose it but I chilled out for a little while. I got my borescope and went out there and it's leaking from the plastic elbow into the transmission housing. No fix yet but looks like I took the sub frame off for extra practice.

I will check this out, thank you.

This is it, what was your fix. I just replaced both the feed tube and the elbow

I ordered a new aluminum block from rockauto, it comes with a new rubber seal in it. Seal on the pipe, then push the aluminum block onto that.

Make sure the seal is not damaged or it will leak forever.

I played hell with mine, so I know how finicky it can be.
