Did it maybe have a phenolic intake spacer before? Hard to tell without a picture of the old and new
Sorry I guess my pictures didn't completely load up. Your absolutely correct its definitely a phenolic intake spacer. Now the question is can I reuse it? It looks in good shape.

I don't see why not. The idea is it's supposed to isolate the intake manifold from the block and keep it from heat soaking. Less important in a turbo setup like that because the intake manifold isn't also the heat exchanger. It might help lower IAT2s but probably not noticeably

Ok so I got a little more done today. Had to drop the oil pan snice I needed to drill and tap the girdle for the turbo oil drain. Which was done incorrectly by the previous owners. Snice I had the pan off I decided to also drill and tap the dipstick port on the pan. In order to make a custom AN dipstick that wont break. I have read that a couple have broken.

Does anyone know what thread does the Z57 air vent that goes to valve cover?

I used my thread finder which has about 64 sizes and nothing matched.

The threads on that fitting look to be NPT pipe threads. Maybe 1/8 or 1/4 NPT, hard to tell from the photo and trying to judge by the size of your fingers. The NPT are tapered threads.

Lol I'm a plumber by trade so I want to my truck and grabbed ¼" nipple and not the same. Also used a caliper and same the threads have no taper. Ethier im doing something wrong or its some weird thread.

Also will note it had like some sealant

M12x1.0 on my ZZP ZFR7163, which is a Z57 turbo with ball bearing borg warner core.

Excellent I knew someone had to take it out.
Of course the M12x1.0 Is not part of the kit I have. Wondering why did you remove it? I took it out trying to see if I can match something up to run AN lines to a catch can.

Also check out the drawing I did of the way im running my PCV system. Clean and dirty side will have a catch can. What your thoughts?

I removed it to measure the threads for you. I wish I understood the PCV system as well as you do.

Wow your the man, I really appreciate that. As fr me understanding the PCV system i been trying to pick everyone brains. From Powell which is impossible to communicate with even if your asking to buy **** from him. To lots of members here that gave me there views. Also AI which is hit or miss.

Ok got the valve cover drilled and tapped. Now waiting for the motion raceworks Billet breather so I can add it to the valve cover.

Question for @Desert Sasqwatch I read that you did the remote oil filter. How's everything working and would you change anything? I will be also adding an accumulator down the road. My main purpose now is so its easier to change the filter and get a bigger one. Also a worry I have is, did it effect with oil pressure?

There are two or three different brands of oil filter adapters on the market. The only one that doesn't interfere with the stock oil cooler is the DDM. It's a very well made billet piece and seals up nicely. It has 10AN fittings.

I picked up a remote oil filter mount with dual inlets/outlets. I picked mine up from Speedway.

This allows for installing an oil accumulator and the ideal location for an oil pressure gauge sensor. I'm going to use a Moroso 1.5 quart accumulator. It will have a solenoid close valve to coordinate oil pressure at engine pre-start and keep the manual valve to positively capture oil pressure in the tank for longer-term.

My Goblin is not to the point of the engine running yet, but I have used a similar set up on my last toy (68 Camaro SS 396) but with a 3 quart Moroso accumulator. Never had a problem with it and it saved my engine once when a piece of steel on the road decided to take out my oil pan. Gave me an extra 5 seconds to recognize my oil pressure light and get the engine turned off.:D

I believe the DDM is not made any longer. But the CBM looks the same.

Anything in particular to look for on the remote filter mount? Like what type if filter is the best or any check valves required?
