V1 Directions for 5 speed manual shifter

Ok. So I got cables, a trans bracket, and some other tie rods and such. I've been researching this area on the forum. I found a good picture, a front shot. See attached. I have tried to find other information on the subject. There is a lot about others using aftermarket shifters, but I cant find too much of the stock shifter. I'm sure there is something buried in here somewhere. Any help would be appreciated.

Is this plastic shifter going to work? The bolt holes align, but the "white reverse forks" prevent me from bolting it down.

Has anyone enclosed the shifter and used a shifter boot?

I modified a racequip shift boot that works pretty good. Cut the front up for clearance and screwed in snaps to the shifter to hold it in place

Looks good and pretty easy. Is that the 871001?

That is really cool. Is your shifter a stock cobalt with the Doyle linkage in the front?

Here is my attempt at making a custom shifter boot. I built a small box out of aluminum that the shifter sits in, and the boot snaps to that.

Do you have more photos of the actual snaps and aluminum box install? This is very clean I like!
