Fire truck cab on the front, box on the back - and a 'sleeper box' in between them. That extra room (12 feet) could be a nice sized space for accommodations. I'm sure you could find something like that.

I am already sitting on a new (extra large) Norcold 12cuft RV fridge, stainless counter and sink, a shower, wet toilet bathroom module, on demand propane water heater, under body 250 gallon propane tank, 2 used Coleman RV air conditioners (need checked out), mile marker 12 ton hydraulic winch- and at least 10 of the hydraulic cylinders for a nascar type car elevator (actually came from a local company that makes the trailers). . . hmmm not sure what other goodies I squirreled away just off the top of my head but come Monday when I get the truck home I can start measuring things. . .
i could probably get away with a popup roof tent for the kiddo too. lol
but I STILL need to finish MY Goblin before I DO anything to a truck!!!!! my friends are already out advertising my trucks for sale too.

I drove the fire truck a bit over an hour home. Gave a well beaten road sign on a super narrow lane another love tap with my passenger mirror. Other wise no issues. that thing is a MONSTER. waaaaay bigger in person! turns out this truck is one year older than the suspension I would have desired for a lighter RV- so a great chassis but not the top dog for a conversion.
it must have a small fuel tank. it had 1/4 tank then I put 20 gallons in from cans which gave it 3/4 tank. Surprised me quite a bit the needle moved near that much for so relatively little fuel. After the bit over an hour drive it still had 1/3 left. it gets to interstate speeds (70) pretty good which surprised some of my friends who said it would only do about 45. it is pretty bumpy on the rough roads we have here tho.
not a lock on the thing. . . no compartment locks or door locks. . . even the ignition is keyless- as in no security at all, not like the newer cars with a fab. flip 2 switches and push a button an she roars to life.
I have about 12 days til the title paperwork arrives from the auction house then I need to go pay taxes on it.
I have a couple small issues to address with it meanwhile so that I can attempt to flip it between now and june-ish. the 6inch inlets trash filters all need replaced. some marker lights I noticed were out, a few dash gauges had back lights out and the AC is stuck on full hot. there is a bit of an air leak on the rear steer lock mechanism too. noticed a bit of a roof leak this morning after the torrential rains we had. all very minor things. i have 6 online fire specific "truck trader" places to list, the state fire circular and even state fire school this summer- so I will give it a good go for a flip.
after June. . .provided I have finished my goblin and if the firetruck has not sold (or traded). . . . well. . .i may just begin dismantling the parts I do not need- were it to be turned into my RV/toy hauler. I will need to find a MUCH bigger A-frame gantry hoist or two than what I have. I swear that 105ft ladder on top must be on the order of ~20,000 pounds!

I can understand the no keys thing. You don’t want an emergency call to be held up because bob put the keys in his pocket and went to lunch.
if I had a tree trimming/removal company I’d buy it for the ladder. How badass would that be to show up on a job site in a ladder truck?

a few weeks back we had to replace the meter box out front of our house with a long overdue upgraded one. . . i had the electrician out on the end off my fire truck ladder so he could get to the top of the pole.- granted barely had to extend it in front of the truck and raise it a few feet. Shoulda got some pics of that! He says someone hasn't lived till they been out on the ladder.
anyway if you ignor the mess of cars and trailers. . .thats the pole and truck just scoots under the cables. . . you can see the power cable to the shop if you look REALLY close
I have some huge tree limbs I should probably trim before this thing sells. . . if it does. . .still planning on trying to flip thru June then the gloves come off as to turning into an RV of sorts.

A friend of mines Toterhome. I worked on this rig way back long time ago. Before he moved to Carolina’s area.well, when it was by buddy’s, then he sold it to an interwebs friend. If I remember right, the bed is like a wrecker bed. It comes down and back and such, to load the car.

Is that Lightning McQueen? (from Cars) sorry first thing I noticed. The rig is quite awesome! bet hills and mountains do not slow it down like most motor homes!
My initial thoughts are much like your patented drawing except enclosed for the cars. I won't keep as much overhang behind the rear wheels so I can have better departure angles when over landing with my 4x4 stuff. . this fire truck is a 4x6 with lockers on the rears and 6 wheel steering has auto snow chains too. . . . I digress. . .anymawho. . .the area where the pump controls are now would be bathroom and kitchen area to leave as much room as possible for the cars but room panels would swing off the walls and lock in place. it would also have a bit of an interior hydraulic dovetail that is level when in "house mode" with ramps. Sure will be plenty of hydraulic power and leftover bits once the ladder is removed.
I am "trying" to not think too much about it and not get toooooo attached on the chance I can flip it for a significant enough profit. The shop could use some upgrades and I will need some capital to finish some of the other cars I have in the que. . . still being able to travel to events with my cars and family in some semblance of comfort would be a super nice thing too.
