Let's see what other kinda cool cars you guys have or owned at one time.

My 06 SS/SC Cobalt SS. This car wasn't my donor but it was the car that made me love this engine. Unfortunately a huge hail storm destroyed it in 2016. Sucks cause it was near perfect and it's still the only brand new car I've ever owned. Sold it to my nephew and he finished it off .

My 84 Monte Carlo SS

I've owned this one since I was 17. My dad bought it new and gave it to me for graduation. Has had many combos but currently has a 97 LT4 and it mostly collects dust in the garage. Hopefully gona drive it more when it warms up.

1974 Toyota Celica

Another one I wish I still had but I sold it to make room for the Goblin. Found it in a field where it had been for 22 years. A rebuilt carb and a few hundred bucks later it was a fun little car.

2009 Pontiac G8 GT

We still have it but it's the wifes now. The wrap has been since removed sonshe can have her black on black on black on black look she loves.

2011 BMW 135i. Great little car. Done a few HPDE (track days) in it.

Owned lots of vehicles, but these are what I’ve had over the last 10 years..

2000 XR600R. I made it street legal and fully rebuilt it with every known Scott Summers mod available. Sold 2 years ago because I got tired of scaring the **** out of myself every time I rode it.

2002 S2000. Traded for Jeep 9 years ago. Good riddance. Fun car, but inconvenient as all hell as a daily driver and lots of warranty issues I had to deal with.

2005 TJ; sold 4 years ago. Miss this one. Had big plans but ended up selling it instead.


Currently in Garage:

Daily drivers; 2001 Saturn (mine) and 2009 Xterra (wife’s). Neither are cool, but they’re both fully paid for. Bought the Saturn 6 years ago for $1500. I rebuilt nearly the entire car right after I bought it. Has 218000 miles on it now and still gets 36 mpg on the freeway. I have a strong attachment to this car as it has been the cheapest, most worry-free and reliable vehicle I’ve ever owned.

Honda V6 N/A powered desert buggy; 4 seater. Bought used 3 years ago & have fully rebuilt it since with numerous upgrades. I’m putting a Cobalt electric power steering in it soon. I’m actually considering selling it later on to build a Goblin AT. (Owning both Goblins would be both convenient and awesome.)

1999 Yamaha Exciter 260. The boat I wanted since I was in my 20’s. Upgraded Cobra jet fins, electric fuel pump, ethanol compatible fuel system, GPS/sonar, solas impellers. Hauls ass.

Owned lots of cars in my 13.5 years, but some more recent highlights.

Three-fer from mid-2013, just before I sold the '02 pewter WS6. I sold it to get the bike (2013 CBR500R), and got a $1600 Volvo as a DD. I put painter's tape racing stripes on it for an autocross just for gits and shiggles.

At the time, it was basically just something cheap and decent, but after a few months of loving it, I was forced off the road and it ended up like this:

I walked away without a scratch, so I figured it'd be a good decision to get another. This one has lasted me almost 5 years, and has over 250k now.

A while after I sold the CBR for a down payment on a house, I got the itch again and picked up an 05 Yamaha Midnight Warrior.

I sold the Warrior to fund the Goblin, and stayed pretty stable for a year and a half. I finally found the unicorn wagon I'd been looking for back in September - 06 V70R in Sonic Blue.

Of course, the one constant since 2011 has been my 98 T/A, which has been an eternal project. It's now on the lift awaiting a thorough refresh, including a new engine, front suspension and subframe, rear end, brakes, and wiring.

Thanks for starting this thread, I genuinely enjoy reading about cars that others are passionate about. I too had a cobalt ss as my first "New Car" and is what lead me to build my goblin.

My time capsule - circa 1978. For those that don't know: grey and white 1957 Chevy Belair with 327/350HP and M22 4-speed in the back and 1956 Chevy 210 with 283/290HP and M21 4-speed in the front. Both cars were in rework mode on a shoestring budget for a senior in high school working 2 jobs. Sold them both within a couple years of this photo when I was in junior college. Both would be worth a heck of a lot more than what I sold them for back then.
