So I'm a techy by day. IT manager for a big company. But I love my high tech toys too. I built this racing simulator over the last 6 months. I'm running SimTools & Assetto Corsa. Runs really well & the oculus gives you the real in car feel.

Have you looked at the wiring harness on the cobalt yet? Here is the question it is a relatively simple set of harnesses once you get the BS (radios, speakers, airbags, ABS etc...) out of it. With that you end up with the main fuse block, transmission computer, along with the engine computer mounted in the the engine compartment then you have the BCM mounted in the front of the car with the harnesses running between the two. In the end you are probably eliminating 50% of what is being used in both the main fuse block and the BCM. Can those blocks be eliminated with a smaller fuse block only having the actual circuits that are needed? From what I can tell both the stock fuse block and the BCM have circuit panels inside.

Nice! I'm running a racing sim as well. I use the Nvidia 3DVision on an old 55" DLP with head tracking. I keep wanting to pull the trigger on VR but for the current cost I'd really like to try it out first.

It's totally worth it. The experience is very close to really driving. I have already started to plan my next build a 6dof platform... but I will build a DF Goblin first :)

I think you meant to post this someplace else :)
