Having some trouble with the supercharged 2.0. Engine is cranking but not starting. I’m not getting any spark. Any ideas? Also engine keeps trying to crank after turning key to accessory. Also my obd port doesn’t seem to give power to my code reader
Can you smell gasoline at the tail pipe, when it is cranking?
If yes, it has fuel and spark, time to check the compression.
The OBDii port not working does sound like a data issue. Checking the OBDII port for electrical issues.
Yes does smell like fuel at tail pipe. Checked compression and cylinder next it transmission was getting 170 and the other 3 cylinders were around 130-150.
@At4Connor my recommendation is to start a log. I've noticed you have mades lots of threads with issues and questions. If we can have them all in one place its easier to track. Some issues can be linked to others and its a good idea to back track with everything in the same spot. It's just my opinion dont take it the wrong way.
Well that is a good start. Has fuel, compression and spark.
Now is everything timed correctly? Maybe start by getting the OBDii port working, so we can check the engine codes, and see if the ECU knows what the issue is.
Getting lots of code for evaporative emission. I have lots of hoses and 1 red plug disconnected per video for supercharged engine. Can anyone help for the hoses missing there location's.
This problem seems more pressing than all those evap issues:
- P0335 Crankshaft position sensor A circuit
meaning the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is not receiving a proper signal from the sensor. This is a critical issue because the crankshaft position sensor (CKP) is essential for timing fuel injection and ignition; without its signal, the engine typically will not start or will stall immediately.
I had an issue with my LSJ crankshaft position sensor wiring a while back. Might be worth a check. The following posts talk about reprogramming the CKP sensor.
YOU ARE THE MAN! Found the wires were barely hanging on. Soldered the wires for now and it started right up. I will have to get a new adapter. Still is running pretty rough idling up and down. Seems like it’s not running and all cylinders still.
Great work!
Now to work on those emission system issues. You might have some vacuum leaks.
That red electrical connector is part of the evap system, and normally eliminated on a goblin.
Actually, lots of evap OBDii codes are normal on a gobin.
Red circle is a huge vac leak. That should be your brake booster connection. The other 2 go to the boost solenoid, but not sure why that one has a “T”.
I put a small air breather on that exit from the head. It is part of the PCV system, I think it originally went to the intake plenum... somewhere near the throttle body? Just check you don't have any open holes on your intake. You don't want unfiltered air getting in, especially after the throttle body and MAF sensor.
