Outlet of turbo to charge pipe is 2" on the Z54, I don't have a Z57.

I'm sorry I meant the exhaust outlet I'm trying to see if that 3 1/2 flange is too big. I just wanted to know if where the o2 housing bolts up to the exhaust on the turbo is 3 or 3.5 inches in diameter. I want to do a custom exhaust too and just don't feel like pulling mine off to measure it

The downpipe I received has a 3inch opening and 1/2” thick steel. Guess that’s standard for the Z57

The exhaust inlet is 2.5” and the exhaust outlet of the turbine is 3”

Np. If I had to guess, they over cut at 3.5” so the exhaust pipe can slide in and be welded. The extra material might be the reason why mine is smaller?

Can anyone help me where the circled red connections go?


Except the fuel fitting I bought the AN fittings that others have used but it bottoms out on the fuel pump before it locks in? Any idea on that one?

Picture 3 is to atmosphere, It is the overflow for the burp tank. pic 4 should go to the intake.... Not necessarily in the pic 1 port but some were in the intake tube after the air filter.

I've connected up #3 to the steam port in the top of the head. See the hose under the intercooler;

I think this is the stock connection point.

#4 should go to the brass hose barb on the intake, center of this picture;

Is this the backup lamp switch sensor? I just realized tonight that my crate tranny did not have anything except a plastic plug to keep dust out... lol

I looked up the backup lamp switch on AllDataDIY, but it only showed me the automatic transmission.

How about measuring the resistance across the connector leads while shifting the levers in and out of reverse?
The first few seconds of this video show how to position the levers.
There is only the backup lamp switch and the vehicle speed sensor on the transmission.

Yes, the one on the top is the backup switch. The other sensor on the back of the transmission (roughly #2 on Ross's image) is the speed sensor. I had to dive into this topic earlier, I came close to confusing the two and sorted them out with wire colors.

Well after further elimination I guess it has to be the backup sensor, The transmission came with a speed sensor installed, I don't know what else it could be.
I'm just going to order one and see if it fits lol

Okay these are the last 7 connections I need to figure out.... I know ONE of them goes to the backup sensor that I have on order for the transmission but not sure which one yet....

I numbered them 1-7 to make it easier to keep straight.

Also DF guys it would be sweeeeeet to have a catalog of connectors and wire colors for each of the 3 types of donors.


Thank you in advance! So close to starting this sucker. Crate engine/transmission has been quiet a bit more challenging figuring out which sensors are missing all over....

Going through every build log I can find, So far I have figured out.

#1.1 Red/blue EVAP not needed on goblin
#1.2 all black with metal clip EVAP not needed on goblin
#6 Blue/Gray - Backup sensor - sensor ordered was not included on new transmission.

I don't remember any connectors that have yellow on them. I thought most of those were for the SRS.

#7 Looks much like the coil packs or often confused with the headlight harness. But it looks like it only has three wires, so it can't be for the coil packs.

If the body of the connector is all yellow, then it's an airbag connection. The yellow lock on the connector is likely not.

Yeah I can't figure out what 2/3/4/7 are. They are all on the new engine harness. I assume one of them is for the original AC, but I don't know which plug. Just trying to eliminate some of these to make sure I'm not missing any sensors.

#2 looks like the AC refrigerant pressure sensor
#3 looks like the AC compressor clutch
#4 looks like an O2 sensor.

I can't see the pins enough on #7 to compare them to electrical connectors list.

Over flow tank runs over to the nipple on right side of engine, I didn’t get one on my new engine either.
