Hi All,
I'm having some trouble with fuel tank venting. The videos don't match my tank, and the only thing I could find that matches my tank is this old thread, but they never address venting. The vent on the factory filler is 5/16" and the vent at the center of my tank is 3/4". I'm assuming this is supposed to be the vent, since it has a rollover valve built into it.
Does anyone know how DF intended for the venting to be plumbed on these old tanks? My understanding on the newer chassis, they tee and one end vents to atmosphere and the other goes the factory filler tube.
Ideally, I'd like to weld closed the factory vent tube on the filler neck, and run a hose off the 3/4" tube on the tank to vent to atmosphere.
1) Does anyone know how this old tank venting is supposed to be plumbed?
2) is there any reason why I need to retain the vent tube on the filler neck if I vent to atmosphere?
3) Does anyone know if venting to atmosphere would be an issue for registering for street use in CA?
