V1 Redlines - 2008 SS TC Goblin build in Mississippi

Yes the TC models can definitely remove the compressor, I did and just ran the shorter belt. Just a belt from a non AC cobalt will work

Well I had a great trip to see Lonny and Adam. got the car back home no problem and now just have to get the parts powder-coated. IMG_2849.JPGIMG_2850.JPGIMG_2851.JPG

And now the fun begins! It seems like the build goes pretty quick. Maybe it was just us and we worked on it hard to get it done because we couldn’t wait to drive it. You will be driving too before you know it. And it’s worth it the time and effort.

I got the plate and registration for the car today and then the powder coat shop called and said that all my parts are done. It's a good day for sure. now to see how fast I can put this thing together.

I was thinking about this the other day. I think if you had all your parts on hand, wiring ready to go, painted, cleaned, powder coated, etc, you could probably have a completely assembled Goblin in a weekend or two.

if this takes me more than 2 weeks (aside from needing something unforeseen) I would be ashamed of myself. now watch it take me three. lol

After watching the videos and know what all there is to do I feel comfortable saying it will take 25-30 hours to complete. again this is assuming nothing out of the ordinary pops up and all the items I have ordered show up in time. I am still waiting on a few parts from Lonny and Adam as when I went up there they didn't have everything in stock yet.

Day one resulted in the hoses getting pulled, bulk head and floor-pan installed, Steering installed until I ran into the slider shaft which will not slide. I shall motivate it at work today with a press that will either move it or break it. I got to put in about 2.5 hours of work in and some of that was organizing all the parts/hardware. figured it would be good to record actual time spent.

Read my build about the steering shaft. You don't have to press it or break it. It's just lube in there that has thickened. Heat, strong degreaser, and time to soak and it will move without effort!.

Thank you, We got it moving and installed. I am at a loss on how the clutch line runs. anyone have any pics that show it? I have been searching random and haven't seen any yet. Same with what holes to use for engine mounting. I have seen that thread but can't remember which one it was.

The holes for the engine depend on the engine/transmission you have. That's why there are so many holes. One plate fits all. I'll see if I can find the post about it.

Put some info on your donor and build in your signature so others can reference what you have to help answer those build specific questions.
