Ross, that looks like it will be a big downforce advantage. The SCCA will like it, since your wing is now essentially a roof spoiler - no airflow (almost) under the wing, only over the top. BUT, the roof spoiler limit is 7.5 inches - if you could say your roof ends at the front edge of the wing you may be able to talk someone into it!

Yes, it is an SVE Rocket 3. They stopped making that model for a while. Dove Racing sold to a couple guys that are now, actually, based out of Rogers, Arkansas. So they are in the same town as @Ross. Dove racing was also an Exocet dealer in the U.S.A. A lot of nice kits in the UK, which some are making it to the U.S.A. now. @Ross will be seeing a lot of that companies models. A similar company is RIOT.

I asked Randy Pobst take my goblin for some fast laps at Hallett Raceway today.
I set up 3 cameras to capture the fun for y'all, but ended up having no usable video
So no nice video like Randy made here.
He showed me how fast I should be going, and where. Randy has great reflexes, and was able to catch the car drifting quickly... up to 5 times in one corner! Just keeping the car on the edge.
After the session he explained what my car was doing. It is too quick at transferring weight to the front of the car, when getting off the throttle, and that would induce oversteer to the front. So we adjusted the rear shocks to be harder, to slow down the rebound. He also felt the front shocks were too stiff, so we softened them.
Then I went out for a session, and the car was handling much better at the transistion between getting off the gas and cornering. I also carried more speed in certain spots on the track. Managed to get within 4.5 seconds of Randy's time. Then we added a bit more hardness to the rear shocks, and then got my fastest lap on the final session.
My best lap was 1:30.718 which put me 4th of the 14 cars with transponders.
Randy's best lap of 1:28.563 put my goblin in 3rd place overall. Really wish Randy could have drove it after the changes, as it is much improved.
Richard Norris managed a 1:26.244 in his Viper. Nice fast car!
Great day overall, and my first time with the goblin at a big track (1.8 mile lap), was doing 110mph on the main straight, 70mph thru turn 1, 100+ on next straight. Reminds me of the days when I ran my Yamaha R6 at this track.

Wow, what a great track session! Getting a professional to help with your Goblin setup is priceless. BTW, that should read 2.2 seconds to Randy's best time - your better than you claim to be Ross! And 4.5 seconds off from an 8 liter tracked Viper, sensational!

On my 2nd session I was able to get to 2.2 seconds from Randy's time, the 1st session was 4.5 seconds. But in all fairness, Randy's time would have improved after the suspension changes.Wow, what a great track session! Getting a professional to help with your Goblin setup is priceless. So true! The more I ride along with fast drivers the more I learn. Just watched @Justinreed7 's latest video, and watching him catch the back end of the goblin when it steps out ... reminds me of Randy Pobst driving my goblin. When the back end steps out when I drive, and I catch it, I have already backed off the attack, and take a moment to gather my courage. Randy and Justin are still in attack mode, ready for the next step out. Maybe one day I will get that comfortable driving at the edge.

On the way home from Hallett, I towed mad Max thru the rain.
After replacing the power steering, again, it works. I will try and seal the new one with HVAC tape, as it is the computer that seems to not like water. I seem to have a few of these left over, and am starting a collection.
The exhaust developed a rattle, again.
So I can opened it, again, and found the other baffle loose. Should have taken it out last time I was here.
I added an extra tack weld to the one remaining big baffle, and welded it shut.

Your luck with the steering electronics is the worst Ive ever seen. The muffler comes in a close second. How loud is it now, like... timetogetareplacement loud or manageable loud?

I used the same paint, only in black. The can (and their website) have curing instructions that include curing on the car rather than oven. The paint is very soft after air drying, so take care reinstalling on the car. During the first heat cycle you can easily see all the VOCs being driven off as the paint cures. After the second heat cycle its good to go.

In an attempt to keep my Electronic Power Steering collection to a minimum, I have wrapped the EPS computer in HVAC tape, then added clear silicon to any areas that the tape didn't get. Dielectric grease in the non-sealed electrical connectors. Hope to get more than a year out of this unit!
@comegetjoe The exhaust note seems to be the same after I removed the 2nd of 3 baffles. The rattle it makes with a free floating baffle is embarrassing, and makes it sound like the engine is ready to explode. Back to normal is good.
