RPM Motorsports?

Can't find anyone in my area within 100 miles to do a tune on my Goblin. The last tuner went out of business. Donor: 2008 SS with turbo. A friend recommended RPM Motorsports in AZ. One buys the HP tuners dongle and they tune through WI Fi. Need to eliminate the error messages that pop up through the lack of ABS and other things. Would also like as many HP as possible and still use 93 pump gas. Anyone have any experience with them?

HPT won't get rid anything but the check engine light and I haven't heard of any tricks that will get rid of the other lights via programming beyond the one device sold on here that is no longer available.

I don't remember seeing anything negative about RPM on the HPT forums. But I don't know that I would go with them over ZZP.

If just a stock setup, it's not that hard to do yourself.

My engine does some surging in 1 and 2nd gear which is annoying. Thought a tune would help. come on down to millbrook and help me! LOL

RPM Motorsports would be a good choice. Give Martin a call and tell him what you would like to achieve with your tune. You will need an AFR logger if doing the tune remotely (same as ZZP). They are familiar with Goblins, tuned at least a few so far. I will likely be using their tuning service once I get everything built and running (after break in period on my new crate engine).

Turbo has wideband stock so logging afr is available in all situations with stock setup, no need to add anything other than HPT.

I think all Goblins, but especially the Turbo (since it relies more on the MAF) could benefit from a MAF tune. This is probably the cause of your surging. MAF's just don't like changes to a factory setup intake system without retuning.

And adjusting the MAF is pretty easy. Adjusting boost levels (and it probably needs adjusting down and not up) and ramp in of boost to preferred levels based upon driving is the harder part on the LNF. And the rate that PE comes in is also a little bit tricky.

Turning off codes for the ECM triggered check engine lights is simple.
