Which shifter? Cobalt stock? DF upgrade? Aftermarket? Each would require a different approach for a boot to make it 'pretty'.
My approach to the 'common' aftermarket shifter added a boot to keep dirt and liquids out of the shift lever ball mechanism - and made it 'pretty'.

This is made from a Jeep Wrangler shifter boot cut down and is held in place with a fabricated perimeter steel plate.
