Switch to manual

Im looking at buying a goblin and noticed a lot of them are auto. How hard to convert a 2.2 with an auto to a manual? Will any chasis take a manual or is the chasis specific the trans type?

Keep shopping...there are manual goblins for sale too. The electronics are different when you have a manual...

I'm pretty sure he's asking about mine. I had to buy an auto, since I'm 6'6" and have big feet... I also thought about switching it to a manual, but yea, after some research, it's just too difficult/not worth it.

Thanks for the advice. Really stuggling to find a 2.0 TC manual. And I cant even really find a cobalt with less thank 150k miles for a decent price, so that makes it hard to build one.

Patience, the SS TCs are out there. It just takes a lot of looking in all of the right places to find the right one. Police auctions are sometimes overlooked. The auto auctions (copart, etc.) can be a better bet sometimes, since many cars that have severe chassis damage, beyond what anyone would attempt to fix, are the best candidates for a Goblin - namely side and rear impacts, stay away from the severe frontal impacts. Keep looking, your donor will find you and then you can help it evolve into a Goblin! :D

An auto was the last thing on my mind when I bought mine, but the only other one I saw it was @Robinjo's and my left foot was on both the clutch and the brake, I think his was mostly due to the stock SS seats and double side bars, but at the time, that just wasn't going to work out for me, so I moved on to building something else.

Hind site, what I have in Rich's car now, I could've built my own extended chassis kit... But I definitely do not have to get rid of it though.

The 2.2 engine on my car only has about 45-50k miles on it and runs great and my Goblin only has 4300ish miles on it and titled as a 2017! But after seeing @Anks329's post today when I got home, from the car show today, I would actually consider doing the manual swap into my car and installing my supercharger! But even then, if I do all that, the sell price would go up...

Copart and IAA have been my main searches because the ones I find in FB marketolave are 200k miles and the person still wants 5k for it.

There are currently FIVE SS/TC on copart.

#3 and #5 look like good prospects. My donors were all hit harder than #3 and #5.

While the #1 Snobalt looks ok from this picture...the other side shows a COMPLETELY different story, but probably still very usable for your intentions.

#2 looked like a mid hit, my first donor that I gave away (yes it was made into a goblin) had ears broke off of the trans from a hit like this.

I wouldn't personally buy #4 unless it's local and you're doing an F23 swap, that thing might have some trans problems lol
