What’s this?

Howdy y’all. What is this doohickey?

also, I’m having trouble getting the plug on the intercooler pump (I think that’s what it is. Small pump on the bottom of the engine under the supercharger) to seat properly. There doesn’t seem to be any mechanisms on it and I don’t see anything in the plug itself. Did anyone have trouble plugging theirs in? I’ll take a picture in a bit if needed.

Evap purge solenoid, you do not need it unless you're running an evap system with canister. You would only need this if you are required to retain all your emissions equipment. If you do not use it, you will need to cap a port, I think this is normally connected to the barb on the throttle body but I can't remember exactly.

I have an ‘05 SC. I'm in Montana so I don't think there are many requirements regarding emission. Currently I'm connecting the barbed nipple on the DF supplied, aluminum intake to this tube. Is this correct?

That's correct, although it may not make sense to use all or any of the existing hose with the routing of your intake pipe.

When the intake manifold is in vacuum (cruising), air is being pulled into the crankcase through that port on the valve cover and then into the intake manifold through the PCV valve and burned. When the intake manifold has boost, the PCV valve closes and any crankcase vapors are pulled though that hose into the intake tube, in the opposite direction of flow from before.

Theoretically the hose should connect to the intake tube after the MAF so that when the engine is pulling crankcase vapors into the manifold, it's metered air.

I'm not advocating for against this particular method, but I just put a little breather filter on the valve cover port so that air pulled through the crankcase and into the intake was filtered, but unmetered, and no draw was applied when the manifold had boost.

This plug came on the harness I got back from DF but it isnt labeled. It’s in the front end of the harness near the radiator. What is this?

Also not sure what this brass nipple is on the firewall side of the SC intake.
I think that is the brake booster port. I don’t have a SC but that is about where the brake hose attaches on mine. And I haven’t studied the layout of the super charger but at some point the air will be pressurized not vacuum.

I’m trying to figure out where this wire from the fuel pump goes. This comes right out of the top of the fuel pump.

I have read the 2005 donor has a different fuel pump harness, other have purchased a new model year fuel pump. My 2006 did not look like that. I searched the forum (for a few minutes) and didn’t see anyone figure out what wires to pull from the 2005 harness. Someone else may be able to chime in.

I’m one of the build videos it says, “plug in fuel pump” but it looks like a totally different plug style. I’m dead in the water until I figure this one out.

@Traé told you what is wrong, the 2005 fuel pump needs to be replaced with a 2006 fuel pump. Unless the rear body wiring harness from the donor was kept with the mating plug, the reworked wiring harness will not plug in. You have a couple choices - find the matching plug from the reworked harness and splice it in for the fuel pump power and level signal or cut out the oddball plug and rewire with a matching plug to plug (so it can be disconnected if needed) or direct wire to the reworked wire harness. No need to throw your hands in air, this can be worked thru and you can get it resolved.

If I cut off or replace the plug attached to my ‘05 fuel pump, how do I know what wires go to it? I’m assuming there are some power and signal wires?

L
Are we thinking that the plug was removed from my harness when they reworked it and now there is no plug for the fuel pump? This is such a strange experience.

Did the harness come back from DF with labels on it - that should be a yes. Do you not have access to the wiring diagrams? I believe at least one other builder on the forum has provided you diagrams or a link to diagrams. Or you could subscribe to Alldata yourself. Figure this one out, it is not rocket science to connect 4 wires - 2 power and 2 signal - to a prepared wire harness.
