What’s this?

In my opinion these questions are more easily answered when they're within a single build thread. I think it helps with context, and it helps me keep track of which questions have and haven't been answered.

The barb at the throttle body was where the EVAP system connected to the intake manifold. It should be capped.

The supercharger bypass solenoid and EVAP solenoid shared a bracket. What you're holding looks like the supercharger bypass solenoid to me. I don't think the EVAP solenoid had three ports. It looks like the EVAP solenoid has been removed from your bracket.

To address a point you made earlier (perhaps in another thread), connector views and wire colors are both useful tools in figuring out what's what.
I really don’t know what any of this stuff is. I also don’t know what anything looks like. I’m really afraid that this whole process is just a bunch of guess work and assumptions and when it comes time to run the car for the first time, if I have any troubles it will be a lot more guessing about what the problem is. I’m super frustrated and discouraged about how this whole build has been going. Between the instructional videos that just ended and the forums that are mostly helpful but still confusing, I’ll be shocked if I actually get this car running. Thanks for all of your help though. I feel like there should be pictures of the ideal setup and super clear diagrams. Oh well. I’ve learned my lesson.

This is how I capped my port on the throttle body.

No problem at all. Like others have said, in your build log is a great place to keep these question. I would recommend perusing through a few of our logs that have SC builds to see what all we did. I bet a few of us had these same questions and many (many) others.

Leo, there is no payoff going to “the dark side”. Take a break or step back and look at something else for a minute.......... Most
Posters on this forum have seen and probably even personally experienced this before. You will get through this...........It all seems like a whole new language because to a certain extent it is a whole new language! and it is full of unfamiliar objects and terrain! (Example: My wife is a computer programer and project manager, sometimes when she talks all I hear is “Wah wa wal wa wa wah!”) The names of all this stuff is not the English taught by Mom and (likely even) Dad, but it does have roots and though it seems made up, it is just “new to you” jargon.........YOU have an advantage here in that you can communicate well in print. That is the key to your success, well that and this forum and any pix we can share. Goblin’s have been completed before and I’d bet everyone who did had stumbles and mysteries, it’s a part of the process.........The more you end up knowing about this project the more likely you will be able to keep it running in the future............Suggested reading: (rare is the person who was Born a car guy) Haynes Brand repair guide for Chevy Cobalt 05-10. Skip the engine and trans rebuilding chapters until later. Also, your donor Cobalt owner’s manual. This can lend some insight to the mechanisms and where/how they interact....... I hope I have come across as a calming voice talking you down to a safe landing, not some “Know It All” jerk talking DOWN TO YOU. (That jerk thing was really not my intent!) Stay Cool! And we’ll be here for you.
