Where is my order?

Hi everyone. I’m new to the forum and was hoping I could get some advice. I ordered my goblin and paid off my balance on January 7th. I was then told that my order was being packed up and the shipping company would get in touch with me. It’s now been about 3 weeks since then and haven’t heard from the shipping company and can’t get and email or phone replies from DF. Is this normal? I’ve saved up and paid over $16,000 and now I feel like I’m being ghosted. I’m sure they’re busy but this is pretty discouraging. Any thoughts?

DF is a solid company, but doesn't have many employees. Patience pays off.
Did you buy a goblin kit? Do you have your Cobalt donor car?

Patience. DF will not ghost you or rip you off. Shipping of orders is coordinated to have multiple orders going to the same location. If there are by chance 2 more orders in your general location, the shipping will hold for those other orders to deliver all 3 off them in that single trip. This saves on transportation costs and saves the buyers some money too.

Yup to both. My goblin is paid in full and have my Cobalt. I've had several emails and phone calls go unanswered for a week or more. I've sent emails and left voicemails...

To Desert Sasquatch. I get that for sure. I just wish I could get an answer of some kind. I'm going to be out of town in March and I have no idea if the kit may be arriving in a few weeks or a few months. I cant even get the name of the shipping company to make sure their emails aren't going to spam.

I guess I'll just wait...

The shipping company is reported to be good about contacting several days before actual delivery.

What time are you calling DF? Right before or right after lunch is the best time to catch someone in the office - central time.

I guess I’m wondering then, does the shipping company have the kit? Will they get in in a few weeks? Then it takes them a few weeks to get it to me? So the kit could come in a few weeks? Or in the spring? Is there a tracking number?

I’ve called in the morning, afternoon and end of the day. Most of the time I get an answering machine. I’m sure they’re busy and I’m not worried that I’m being scammed, I just want to be able to make some sort of plan for their whole thing. I hate having no idea what’s going on and then not being able to get any kind of answer. $16,000 is a LOT of money.

I can understand how you feel after spending all that money and not hearing much. Mixed with the excitement to get started and it's unbearable. I know, I was there at one point many years ago. At that time, I had to wait six months to get my order. Today they are shipping much faster. Not making excuses, but they are a fairly small operation and they get hammered with phone calls and emails, yet still try to get things done and put out orders. The best part about this forum is that many of us can help to answer the questions (regarding the build process) and take some of the load off of them so they can focus on the business side.

Fear not, they will be in touch and will get your order out to you.

Thanks. I’m sure it will get here. If I’m out of town when it happens, I’ll have a serious issue.

Just like everyone else is saying, just give them time. I had to wait for a load of Goblins heading this way, it was a few months i believe. They do not ship just one at a time, it's cheaper for you to wait and be added to a shipment going east or west depending on your location. Oh and like the others have said, they are hard to get ahold to sometimes. I found I could get them on the phone in the AM vs the PM.

I ordered on December 9th and mine was delivered March 15th, granted that was a few years ago but gives you an idea of timing. Also if you have the donor, now is the time to start tearing it down and getting parts organized for the goblin to show.

I definitely get that there are challenges and delays in shipping. My issue is that i need to get some sort of communication on timing. I'm going out of town and I need to have some sort of idea when the car MIGHT arrive. a week? a month? 6 months?

Sorry to hear that you have been having issues getting a reply. I will contact Adam and find out what the issue is.

You already are!

Stage 1 is, man I really wish I could have my kit next day, I get it, but still!
Stage 2 is, upon delivery, holy cow this thing is tiny (obligated to post this reaction)
Stage 3 is, can I actually make a car out of all of these parts?
Stage 4 is, I really wish I'd labeled this (there's always one part)

There's also half stages before and after every one where you post your progress and folks ask the same questions- what are your plans, did you pull the parking brake tubes, you're really going to that? (yes)

Speaking of which, where's your build thread, what are your plans, tell us more!

Some additions

Stage 5: ahh beans, i messed up the wiring (it's a ground)

Stage 6: this thing is terrifying and I love it

yeah I'm super excited to start this thing. I'll be building it with my dad (build two hot rods when i was a kid) and my daughter (budding car enthusiast). I've got frame 534. No roof bars, and the "regular" side bars. I've got a '09 SC cobalt. My plan is to go for a late 60's Ferrari F1 look and to do a bunch of forged carbon bits. Dash, front brake scoops, shift knob, intake scoops, etc. also gonna do something custom for the side mirrors, headlights, and exhaust.
