VICTORY!... kind of. Basically, I decided that since I have two or three spare F23 transmissions, I was just going to pound it until it came out. I used a pickle fork and I was able to wedge it in there and tap it in lightly with a two-pound sledge. I didn't go ham on it at first. I just tried a little bit of force, a little bit of rotation, back and forth. Well, eventually it just released. To my horror, only half of the circlip came out. Thankfully, I was able to fish the other part out with a magnet. I think I'm just going to put the ZZP axle in, and if it breaks, well, new transmission lol.

Put the come-along into double pull instead of single pull.

One trick, use some sandpaper and 'break' the 90 degree edge on the outside of the C-clip. Doesn't take much, just enough so it doesn't feel sharp anymore. And use some good sticky moly grease on it before reinstalling. But you will still to fight with it to remove it again, maybe not as much.

I'm still super busy preparing for Drop the Hammer and waiting for nice weather (this spring sucks!!). My todo list is roughly as follows:

Goals:

• Wire in Line Lock
• Wire in Magnus Slipper Valve
• Wire in AEM TruBoostX
• Install new dash
• Splice in a trailer light pigtail
• Finish building the trailer (currently assigned to my crew chief lol)
• Get the car vinyl wrapped
• Test!

Stretch Goals:

• Cruise control
• Rewire radio and speakers
• Wire buttons and label buttons
• Hook Magnus Slipper Valve up so its just on in first gear when a toggle button is on

I wanted to wait until it was installed but I'm too excited with how it looks! I have been working on a 3D printed dash. I've gone thru 8 or so iterations and its pretty close to done. Its not perfect. The key hole I left as a giant hole meaning to install a tapered insert later. That's a problem for future me. Before anyone asks too, this won't work for your build. My windshield bracket has some custom stuff done to it that changes the contour of the hood. Yours will be different. I will be trying one of my prototypes on @mjgrusni 's goblin at some point, but his has a custom windshield too, so I'm not sure how worth it it will be.

Regardless... the dash is made of 5 ASA 3D printed sections glued together. I then bondo'd and sanded it flat. I just got done flocking it and it turned out great! Excited to officially install it tomorrow and start putting all my gauges back in!

Wow wish the contour would work for me as it would save me a **** load of time lol. How did you come up with the shape? Did you scan or use cardboard?

Combo of 3D scan (Polycam app) and trial and error really. I printed thin sheets of high speed PLA for the test prints to save time

Busy busy but I got everything done and I'm teched in at Drop the Hammer! 20psi of boost, line lock, and slipper valve all working (so far). I will need to dial in the slipper tomorrow because as of right now it just burns up the clutch and hits redline lol. Hoping to be in the mid to high 6s in the 1/8th!

Well, first runs didn't go too well, but we're figuring it out. There were a bunch of oil downs so we didn't get to run til almost 1 (racing started at 11 it was oiled down by 11:30). First run the guy double bulbed me so I had no time to two step or hit the slipper. Second run I changed up my order of operations and I was able to launch with the slipper. It might as well have been no slipper since it didn't do anything. Two more turns in and I'll try it again tomorrow haha. We'll get it figured out! Trailer working great!

Survived day two! We kind of got the slipper clutch to work, but we still need to have it slip some more. We took a half second off our time with 7.5 at 102. Still not the fastest I've ever ran, but we're gonna figure it out.

Well, we wicked it up to 4200 on the two step and turned the slipper up. It made 2.5lbs of boost on the two step, which was better than nothing. Both attempts I ran a 7.1@103. The second attempt it did a mini wheelie off the line. I don't think we won the overall for stick shift, but we are really close.

I don't have the full results yet, but I emailed them to ask how we placed. We placed second! We had to leave early after turning in our final time slip Sunday, so we didn't get to stay for the awards. From the results I do have, I think we ran quickest stick shift with a 7.126@103. I'm pretty happy with it considering we weren't trying to be competitive - just to have fun! Its still no where near dialed in because it should be capable of much more than that. That being said, we did improve a lot! Went into it with an 8.0 because we just bogged off the line. I didn't get my 6 like I wanted, but we're getting there! Here's a few photos from the event:
