Something does not line up here. Male on Male plugs. Is there another adapter needed (Which I don't have of course...)

Well, very frustrated I give up for the day/weekend. Had the day off and wanted to start putting the engine in. I need a new alternator because the current one was damaged when i picked up the engine. I thought I could make it work, but I can't and ordered a new alternator.

This would not stop me from moving forward, I guess I could move forward and replace the alternator later on, but the crank shaft position plug is an unsolvable problem at this moment.

I can NOT recommend the way I did it, buying a used engine with a wiring harness. I honestly doubt that the seller who was in the process of building a Goblin would have ever been able to finish it. I just hope this nightmare comes to a happy end and I don't be surprised with more issues.

Well, I can report good news! I thought, I check the box with all the other harnesses again and there is another engine harness, where someone started working on it already. Some plugs are cut and some wires are just lose. I found the jumper harness.

Since my harness had 2 fan connectors and the connector for the supercharger pump, I pray that I have the right harness for my LSJ.

You asked about the LAP earlier so I stopped by my shop and snagged a pic of that jumper on my 2009 LAP. The larger plug is on the harness side. Smaller sensor side. Both three pin/wire.

I still don't understand. I bought the LSJ from a 2007 cobalt donor, with the wiring harnesses from the same donor. What would it help me to look for other crank position sensors?
I'm having trouble keeping up with what you are working on and what is coming from where. And then there are concurrent post going on.

My post for design/production changes was as a reason why GM my have used and adapter harness.

Ahh, ok. Yeah, that make sense. I thought it would help me with my current problem.

So here is a summary: I always work on a 2007 LSJ. 2007 LSJ wiring harness, 2007 LSJ engine harness,...
I am converting my 2009 LAP Goblin to a 2007 LSJ.
My Goblin currently has a 2009 LAP. It is working just fine as is, I will not touch that at all. I have this engine with the harness, ECU, PCM,... for sale.

Here is it where it gets messy: I bought the 2007 LSJ used engine, harnesses, PCM, BCM,... from a guy which was building a Goblin. He stopped building this Goblin and bought a built Goblin. He sold the Frame,... I bought the engine with, what I thought, everything I needed. Imagine I got a big box with all kind of harnesses and had no clue which one was for what. Unfortunately first thing I found out is that someone might worked on the main harness already. It turned out, that this was not the case and the seller just mixed up a LNF harness and my untouched LSJ harness. He shipped me the right harness and I shipped him the LNF harness. Then I started thinning and combining the harnesses. Found out that the accelerator connector where not correct. Build me the right adapter for that.

Last night I started putting the engine harness on the LSJ. I looked in the wiring harness and traced the connectors to the sensors. The crank shaft position sensor and the plug on the harness did not fit to each other AND I found that the alternator was damaged. It was in the big box and got damaged loading or transporting it. I ordered a new alternator. Anyway, I was so frustrated, because there are 1,000,000 problems and the guy did not label anything!!! That I decided to call it a day, take the Goblin for a ride and continue with other projects.

When I came home from my ride, @Robinjo mentined the jumper harness. I was already wondering why the wire was soooo short. Then I looked in the big box again where the thinned harness, the other harnesses e.g. Sunroof,... are still in. I found a second LSJ wiring harness. But this seems to be one, where some plugs where already cut off. Not sure which ones.... BUT it had the little jumper cable for the crank shaft position sensor. Seems like this problem is solved!

I hope that explains a bit better where I am working on.

Question regarding the routing of the engine harness. I pushed the harness behind the oil cooler. In between the oil cooler and the oil filter. From there I routed the wires under the the intake manifold and above the supercharger pump. Does that sound right? The harness is in contact with the motor at some places. Especially by the oil cooler and oil filter.
