V1 The wife’s Goblin, 2007 L61 F23

Ross
We built Brenda's goblin #200 during Goblinfest 2022... it went pretty quick, since everybody helping had already build one.

Probably someone else also built one in 3 days... but if you count all the time ordering parts, cleaning and preparing parts, it would be a lot longer. 3 days is just the assembly task.

Got to put the first few miles on the Goblin today and had an axle seal leaking which this is pretty easy to replace compared to the cobalt. I’ll have it back together shortly and start getting things together for the trip to Mountain View

The wife and I had an awesome time at Goblinfest. We unloaded the car off the trailer with 10 miles on it and loaded it back up with 185. We didn’t have any issues but the car itself still needs a few things to be completed. We were in a cabin next to Ross which was fun too. I took our son Emmett for a ride after we got home. Can’t wait for next year, thank you Lonny and Brenda.

Markm. WOW! Off the trailer with 10 mi showing and added 185 over the weekend! That is an awesome report! And under a deadline! Really, Wow man, that is quite an achievement. (I consider myself lucky if I can pull off mi like that after an oil change!)

Anyone attempted to have both the high and low beams come on at the same time with the dominator headlights? I bought the wife’s used that have the led conversion already which are fine on low beam but high beam sucks. I’m wondering if they’ll get too hot and/or burn out prematurely. If anyone has some input it’d be appreciated

There are two types of Dominator headlights buckets - ones with a larger open hole on the bottom side and others with no hole as a solid bucket. If you have the solid buckets it's probably a bad idea to run both high and low beam at the same time. But the open buckets would require at least an IP66 rated LED in case of water getting inside.

The lights have a fairly large hole in the bottom maybe 1”- 1 1/4” but I didn’t realize it even had led in them until I turned them on. Since goblinfest is over and winter isn’t far away I’ll mess with them then.

So you could run the high and low beams simultaneously as there should be enough cooling with the 'open' bucket. Give it a try, the worst thing that can happen is overheating the LED lamp. One recommendation tho is to make certain the wiring to the lamp is a little heavier gauge to help reduce the chances of wire overheating between the headlights and the fusebox/bcm.

I also thought about maybe replacing them with something else or maybe getting two of the dominator setups and wiring it to have one low beam and two high beams on each side with added relays and such to take the load off the factory wiring

Distant cousin, likes jazz and lives in Wisconsin - gets mistaken for the Bray Road Beast (look that one up). The local bovine crowd keeps making requests for oompah music, so he is not well liked. Has been asked to move back to New Jersey. :p

Took my daughter for a quick ride in the Goblin the other day. We’re still waiting on the state on the title so we only went a few miles she had a blast and was asking to drive it to school on her last days of this school year, she is a senior this year and the school is small and private so if anyone messes with it we’ll find out. She had a blast

Well it’s officially time we removed the Memphis style temporary tag. Some of y’all will get the inside joke. Now for the insurance part. Getting the tags is an adventure in itself which I’ll add that to the Tennessee registration post

Well we’re 100% road legal with insurance and all this morning so we went to lunch. Hopefully if the weather is decent enough we’re going to the wrap shop to pick out what she wants on it, I’m trying to talk her into a glossy carbon fiber but I think she wants some kind of custom wrap.
