I'm definitely going with Steel-IT when I do mine. Yours seems to have come out amazingly.

May I ask what type of prep work you did to the frame before spraying it?

I wire wheeled all of the welds, scuffed the frame with red scotch brite pads and cleaned everything with isopropyl alcohol. This is my own procedure I made up using supplies on hand so buyer beware.

Steel-it is on sale right now for buy 8 cans get 4 free at this site, I guess they are pretty overwhelmed with orders so it might take a while to get it. I went ahead and ordered a dozen cans - best price I could find for rattle cans.

Well you certainly don't have to have one of these for a project as small as this, however, I will say that there are worse things I've spent $49 on

Can't tell you how much $$$ I've spent on tools and small parts at HF since I started my build...and have a long way to go. I see there is 10% off all welders and welding accessories this week.

Got the floorpan painted and installed. Nice to finally be putting parts on the frame.

Got the subframe back from the powder coater. Such a huge improvement.

I'll be doing rivnuts or welding on nuts for the fasteners, but thanks for the offer.

What are you doing for seat mounts? I assume the welded in rails are not the path you're choosing?
