Assembly Day - 2Assembly Day - 1
So today is the day. Finally have everything is one place and able to get started. The wife was much help today. Got the radiator hoses pulled, the winch worked great. Took longer to prep the end of the hose than it did to pull them. Got the floors attached, bought a pneumatic riveter from harbor freight and it didn't work. So broke out the hand riveter, my forearms are tender. But it all went together without any problems. Rack installed and clutch and rear break lines installed. Got the wife and have her back right side up. Not bad for day one.
Started the install of the harness. The BCM is being a pain, I think it's going to be worse when I install the hardware. Ran into a couple small items not in my kit. Will be contacting DF Monday. Nothing major. Not quite as far as I wanted to get today. The heater exchanger slowed me up a little with having to run to Lowe’s for some metal. But all in all a solid day.Assembly Day - 2
Steering installed, pedal box and clutch pedal. Got the brake booster and master in and attached the front brake lines. Was able to make two little brackets for the back side of the heat exchanger allowing me to have the fan and the NACA ducts plenum installed. The front of the plenum bolted up as if the fan wasn’t there, the brackets just gave enough space and it all fit in place. Added the coil cover to the motor, I think the orange and black look pretty good.
Went ahead and installed the radiator support and tried to install the radiator. My radiator looks different the the ones I am seeing in pics and from the video. Mine has a radiator cap and vent. The pins on the bottom of the radiator were to big for the grommets on the radiator support. I tried to drill them out, but they cracked. Has anyone run into this with the radiator seemingly being different?Started the install of the harness. The BCM is being a pain, I think it's going to be worse when I install the hardware. Jay, that blue is beautiful! It would make a great UK blue.Picked up the chassis and most of all of the parts that I sent for powder yesterday. The orange came out great and the blue is fire.
I’m a UK fan…we don’t get to celebrate big wins in football very often. Usually we find a way to lose at the end. I fully expected FL to tie it up so we could lose in OT.A little soon, but it happens.

That orange is looking really good. I could barely see the blue knuckle and it looks like it’s really going to look great against the orange.

Just trying to clarify. The wire colors match, it just seemed odd that some parts are clearly early model and then the steering wheel is late model.I'm not sure this is what's going on but I believe '07 is kind of an in-between year. I know some of the electrical is different from the other SS/SC years and it's definitely different from the '08 and later SS/TC. Do you have parts that don't work or are just trying to clarify?
That is what I am seeing on mine. The early and late model designations will vary based on the system being referenced and possibly the donor trim level. For example, my donor was a 2008 Cobalt 1LT; it had an early model brake booster and master cylinder and a late model steering wheel.
