My fuel rail has a schrader valve on it, that I used to measure the fuel pressure, but would be useful for removing air.Any advice on purging the air from the fuel rail? I’ll google how but any advice would be appreciated.
Be careful, I believe it pumps at 50+ psi!Ok awesome. Thanks. So if I have that open while cranking I should be able to purge?
Yikes. So maybe I crank them open it to give some relief.Be careful, I believe it pumps at 50+ psi!
A trick I saw was to use an old hose off of an A/C recharge kit, screw one end onto the Schrader valve port on the fuel rail. Aim the loose end at the ground.Yikes. So maybe I crank them open it to give some relief.
will do. thanks.See if any of the local auto supply stores have a fuel pressure gauge on the tool loaner program.
I'm sad I can only up vote this ONCE!??? Well life's not exactly fair now is it? "When" is always an open question. I feel sure it will go and you will drive it, it's just having a little teething trouble just now. Try to be patient, building your own car is a luxury many will never know. You are one of the lucky ones!I found the Schrader valve on the fuel rail and when I pushed it I got a little fuel and some spattering. Then after cranking it a little I tried again and got almost nothing. A few tries like this with same results. I'm assuming I'm getting no fuel flow? I went ahead and ordered the '06 OEM fuel pump from rock auto. Hope that works. I just want to drive this **** thing.
I am 63 y/o, worked on cars since I was 18. I've heard that from a dozen or more guys, I think one guy meant it! It certainly is a fork in the road of life, but I won't be surprised to hear you built this car and decided to do it again. The feeling of driving something you built or even modified is highly satisfying and can be addictive, in a good way. Stay Strong! At least I know I never want to build another car…
