V1 Neodied's #375 Extended Track - 07 SS/SC donor

Yep! So previously Wikipedia had a sentence that said:
Code:
LSD was optional for 2005 models (performance package came with LSD) and was standard in models from 2007 to 2010.
The "LSD ... was standard in models from 2007 to 2010" is the bit that misled some people into thinking that by buying one of those model years they would be guaranteed a LSD.

Unless I'm gravely misunderstanding and LSD was indeed standard equipment on some model years. But I couldn't find any sources that said so.

I've taken care of that misinformation from donor - read that on Wiki, stupid me - with a F40 6 speed transmission and a Quaife LSD going into my Goblin. Sold the F35 non-LSD for a pretty good price too.

Got the call from Stewart Transport, frame should be arriving next week! I still have to:
Drop the engine (my buddy has a hoist, I think I can borrow it some time before Saturday)
Remove the dash
Remove the wiring harness
Strip the rear
Dispose of the donor shell

Busy weekend ahead...

Regarding the engine drop: Any tips how and where to disconnect the manual shifter cables? The disassembly video only shows the automatic trans process.

I would assume that the cables are disconnected from where the attach to the transmission. Should just be a ball and socket joint, possibly with a little spring clip type of retainer.

I popped them at the trans and pushed them off to the side while I was pulling the engine.

Cool, okay. The misc Youtube videos I had watched just said "disconnect the cables" and I guess that is what they meant. Snap/pop connections always make me nervous but it can't be too big of a deal if there's no horror story thread posted in the disassembly forum section.

Regarding dropping the engine with a hoist, that's certainly a straightforward option, but you can also lift the body with a floor jack while the engine is sitting on the ground, or cut the core support and just slide/dolly the engine and trans out the front.

Just put jack stands at the pivot point and have a big friend sit in the trunk to lift the front up lol.

I did what Ruaq said and it was very simple

I have a set of QuickJacks and obviously used them. But I used my hoist to set the engine on a wheel dolly, then just rolled it out from under the car. If you can get the front end up after setting the engine on something with wheels, that's what I'd do again...was pretty easy for me and my FIL.

Regarding shifter linkage, I disconnected it at the trans. Was pretty straightforward/easy if I recall.

Some have said a little extra persuasion was needed, but my manual shift cables came off at the trans with a simple twist of a flathead screwdriver.

I had a hoist available but it was easier to lower the engine/trans onto the dolly, disconnect everything, and then use a jack to lift the car off the engine/trans. I also had dollies under the rear wheels so I just rolled the car back after using the jack to lift it high enough.

Yep. Lift the car, not the engine.

If you cut the front core support off you don’t have to lift the car as high
Yep, I actually did that as part of following the videos (and partly as an excuse to bust out the angle grinder and make some sparks fly). My buddy is coming over tomorrow with the hoist so we'll figure it out I'm sure.

This freak spring snow though...
