Well I picked up the donor today, so I guess I can start the build log.

A little Background
Been a gear heads since I was little, worked on many project cars over the years and always dreamed of building my own car from scratch. Initially I was planning to build a locost, but locally miata sellers think miata's are the hottest thing, and ask to much. I had a midlana in mind, but time is tight so I'm going for a Goblin to save time on fabrication, and engineering. It's pretty cool that they've pretty much solved everything. When I saw this donor pop up I thought it was time to jump in. I'm located on Vancouver Island, Canada.

I feel like my biggest struggle is going to be making room. There's a manx clone in the shed that's still a work in progress. And a 924 + C-SRT4 somewhere. Ooops.

The Plan

The goal of my build is going to be primarily autocross, lapping days and time attack events. ONce I get my novice license I may go for a few hill climbs, the closest one being Knox mountain, it's on the bucket list.

Next up I need to decide what kit and options to order... and how long to wait to try and get 333, it's half of 666, maybe that's close enough.

Welcome! Some have messaged Adam and Lonny to request a specific chassis number and got it. Their chassis of course don’t get built until the jig has reached that number of chassis of course so it may be 6 months+ before your chassis is built. But you’d at least get the chassis number you want

Order number is different from chassis number because order numbers increase for random things purchased from DF (like I purchased the wire harness rework kit separate, or people buying shirts, etc).

I was chassis #294 now #293, I'm about 2 months away from delivery. Long list of things to do before I even start braking the donor, between house projects, organising my sheds, and maybe getting the dune buggy running. 2 months seems so long away, but not enough time at the same time.

If I was doing it again I would take the rad off first to make it easier to get around the frame horns.

Also triple check for connections, or have a second set of eye I missed the hydraulic line for the clutch and snapped the quick connect fitting on the trans. Also somehow broke the mount for the heat-exchanger reservoir.

Once out I noticed my manifold has a good size crack between 2 & 3. SO I either need to look at an after market header or OEM unit, not sure how much is to be gained on the supercharged engines.

Also some very seized press in bolts in the driver side knuckle, and the rear bolts in the sub-frame are froze in the control arm bushing. So hopefully I can get those pressed out, I've already rounded the ends a little wailing on them with a sledge, I've heard the sub-frame bolts are hard to get a hold of. And the parts listing is growing.

Yeah, that crack in the stock exhaust manifold is a pretty common failure point.
Any update on your Goblin project?
