V1 Wiring up the lights

I believe the parking light wires are brown

Where is your brown wire connected to on your headlamp assembly? The front park light wires are brown and should come from your fuse box, through the headlight harness connector that was in the engine bay, and to the lights.

Try turning off automatic lamp control on your turn signal switch and see if they go off. That way you bypass the ambient light sensor circuit.

Green is ground, red is park lights, orange is blinker.

I know this was years ago, but this is for the turn signals, correct?

actually, not what I am re-reading this, I believe you are talking about the rear lights. Do you happen to know the blinker wiring setup? This is the current setup/wiring from DF (as of 2022):
