Hi All,

Thank you all for the interest! BC standard 0° offset is winning by a landslide, and were very close to 10 people. Please let me know if there's any corrections I need to make, but here is what I have so far:

BC standard mount 0° offset:
  1. Gtstorey
  2. Comegetjoe
  3. Jaredthenav
  4. SmsDetroit
  5. Rttoys
  6. Markm
  7. Indy Lonnie
  8. OptimizePrime
  9. Sparvy
Koni standard -1° offset:
  1. [me]
BC coax -2° offset:
  1. Keckster
Sparvy@Keckster ... unfortunately I don't think a coax is going to happen at this rate. With that said, if I run a batch of standard 0°, it wouldn't be that hard to run a modified batch of standard -1° for myself+both of you. If I were to offer a small batch of standard -1° at the same price ($250), is this something you'd be interested in?

Can someone do me a huge favor, and verify these dimensions off their BC coilover damper shaft? The differences are pretty minor between the Konis that I'm running and BC, but I'd like to make a mock BC damper just to make sure I'm covering all my bases. I have BC body dimensions, but I don't have the damper shaft dimensions. I'll need the following off a BC coilover:

55832

  • Threaded diameter A: I believe this is 12mm?
  • Damper shaft diameter B: I believe this is 20mm?
  • Threaded shaft length C: don't worry about the threaded/unthreaded lengths, I just need the overall length
  • Shaft length D: I believe this is 130mm?
Diameter A and B are more critical; C and D are non-critical... approximate dimensions with a tape measure/eyecrometer combo would be fine.

I'd still be interested in the winning option at 0 deg as I do have plenty of adjustment with the tubular subframe.

didn't sebnuts design this about 2 or so years back? i 3d printed his model but haven't got it set up in my MR-1 cnc to produce yet becuase i really need to just start my own goblin before i get too distracted on upgrades

Thanks for your flexibility! The 0 degree standard is definitely going to be the winner, so I've moved you over to that list.

Nice! What I have mocked up is extremely similar, not that there's a lot of different ways to design this. Although several people have DIY'd their own personal solution, nobody has made something available to the masses, which is why I started this group buy.

Are you interested in a set? This is an anodized billet bolt-in solution, that will solve this issue, and only cost $250 including shipping, bearings, and hardware, if we can get enough people together.

And with that, we've hit our goal of 10 people! The more the merrier, so please keep the interest coming. If you are seeing this post but aren't a forum member, you can reach me at [email protected], and I'll add you on the list.

Please bear with me on the timeline as this is something I'll be chipping away at on weekends, and a couple of the following weekends I'll be at a race, but I'll be keeping everyone in the loop. I'll source a quality bearing that's rated for >3G axial load this weekend and then I'll design the mount and post it up.

Well perhaps, it would save me setting up the CNC eventually- but currently my capital funds are a bit limited with my recent firetruck purchase and preparation for the summer shows with my host of vehicles. lol. I may desire 5 sets- 4 of those for non-Goblin/ 4 wheel T-rex projects. I prefer black Anodized for all of them and 0 degree (didn't see a color specified).

what may be more relevant to the group overall:
When are funds required? vs when can we expect the parts?
Will there be later orders?
How are the funds to be delivered?

I was going to hard anodize black all of them.

Funds will be required before I send the design out and pay the machine shop for manufacturing. I've got a few great machine shops I regularly work with and I'll probably have the design finalized/bearing sourced/shop selected in about a month (so funds will be due then). Once it's sent out for manufacturing, it'll take about a month to manufacture + anodize. Once I receive them after anodize, I'll have to assemble all of them, and I'd like to run at least 1 track day on them before shipping them out. As a rough estimate... about 2.5-3 months until ship.

My cut off for accepting orders will be about a month out (when I start having them machined).

I accept venmo and paypal.

Add me, BC 0°. Thanks!

Sure I'm OK with standard, but curious and struggling to understand the coaxial option....
Got it, thanks all for the interest! This is gaining more traction than I thought (which is a good thing). I'll just keep this list rolling for my book keeping...

Supermiata has a couple videos and pictures explaining their coaxial mounts that will probably clear up your confusion... IMO, they do the best job explaining how they work and their application; I'd recommend checking out those videos and writeups to explain them in better detail. Neither of these mount I'm offering include novel engineering concepts... I'm taking concepts that already exist and are known to work, and applying it to a Goblin. Dampers articulate quite a bit more on miatas than on our cars, and coaxial mounts become exponentially more critical as the damper "tilts" more during travel. On a miata, I've compared apples-to-apples with coaxial mounts, and they seemed better on track, but not enough to where I can guarantee that it wasn't a placebo affect. On our cars, the damper only tilts a couple degrees from full droop to full compression... it's enough to add excess friction within the damper, and enough to snap damper shafts, but IMO not enough to justify a coaxial mount. There's some gains in them, but I think the standard mount is the best bang for your buck for our cars.

I'm cool with switching to align with the majority on these. I was looking at doing the method that Shadow Lou did years ago by just inserting a 22m OD 12mm ID spherical into the df mount. Money is just a little tight right now so depending on when you decide to place orders will dictate my ability to be involved in this group buy...
